The one-day Kathmandu sightseeing tour begins at your hotel, where our representative will pick you up and take you to the city’s heart, the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, is located in a valley surrounded by Himalayan mountains. Durbar Square, at the heart of the old city’s mazelike lanes, becomes frenzied during Indra Jatra, a religious celebration with masked dances. A 2015 earthquake damaged or destroyed many of the city’s historic sites. The palace in Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap, a wooden Hindu temple, is being reconstructed.
