Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Bauddhanathn Stupa

When we arrive in Kathmandu, a representative from Deshatan Travels and Tours will meet us at the airport and transport us to our hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll have a pre-trip meeting where we’ll meet our trek leader and other team members. We can use this time to ask the management and trek leader any questions we have about our trip. In the evening, Deshatan Travels and Tours will host a welcome dinner. We will have excellent Nepalese cuisine for dinner, which will introduce us to the country’s food culture.

Day 2: Hike to Champadevi

Take a morning hike up to Champadevi hill today (at 7,500 feet). Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the mountain range stretching from Mt. Manaslu in the west to the Himalayas in the east. Back at the hotel, you can relax for the afternoon or visit the nearby villages of Pharping, known for its Buddhist monasteries, and Dakshinkali, which has a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Kali.

3–4 hours of trekking

Day 3: Flight to Lukla in the Khumbu Region

Today you will fly to Lukla, which is located in the Sagarmatha National Park. Check into the Everest Summit Lodge upon arrival. After an early lunch, take an acclimatization walk up to Bom Danda village (9,840 feet).

Day 4: Trek to Monjo

You’ll be trekking to Monjo today. Pass through Sherpa settlements on gentle trails, taking in the scenery of the Dudh Kosi Valley. Lunch will be served in the village of Phakding (8,700 feet). Continue for another three hours to Monjo. Porters resting outside brightly painted tea houses, weathered and windblown trekkers winding their way back to Lukla, and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze — a magical first day on the trail.

Today, your Sherpa guide will take you on a hike to Thachok Danda, which is located just above 9,840 feet, to help you acclimate to the altitude. Views of the Thamserku, Kongde Ri, and Numbur Himal peaks are spectacular from this vantage point. In Monjo, spend the night.

Day 6: Trek to Mende

Today, after a three-hour walk at a leisurely pace, you will arrive in the heart of Khumbu, Namche Bazaar (11,320 feet). Take a well-earned break for lunch and explore this vibrant market town perched on the crest of a hill. A winding path will lead you to Teso and then to Mende from here. Enjoy the views and, most importantly, the fully-electrified lodge once you arrive at Mende. This lodge is off the beaten path, providing tranquillity and a chance to recharge.

Day 7: Day Excursion to Thame

Thame is a village near Tibet that is home to a Buddhist monastery that is nearly 350 years old. The walk from Mende to Thame is leisurely and enjoyable. Overnight at Mende Lodge. Enjoy a cultural program organized by the staff in the evening.

Day 8: Trek to Tashinga via Khumjung

To get to Khumjung, walk past water-powered prayer wheels and fluttering prayer flags. Sir Edmund Hillary established one of the first schools in Khumbu here.
